About Ashley

License #:

Hi, I’m Ashley. I’m a therapist who believes you shouldn’t have to clean up your story before bringing it into the room. I work with adults and couples navigating infertility and fertility treatment, pregnancy and postpartum, grief and loss, motherhood, relationships, sex and intimacy, and major life transitions. I also work with adolescents (12+) experiencing anxiety, ADHD, neurodivergence, and the challenges that come with growing up. Before becoming a therapist, I spent 14 years in special education, an experience that shaped my collaborative, flexible approach to therapy. My passion for infertility and maternal mental health is also personal. My husband and I spent nine years navigating infertility, including multiple rounds of IVF, failed treatment, loss, and eventually pregnancy and motherhood. Your story is uniquely yours, but I understand how hope, grief, anger, jealousy, fear, and even humor can exist in the same space. Therapy with me is warm, conversational, and real. I won’t just sit quietly and nod. I’ll listen, ask questions, offer perspective, and gently challenge you when it’s helpful. You can cry, swear, laugh, say the thing you’re afraid sounds terrible, or admit you have no idea what you’re feeling. I don’t believe in rushing people toward the bright side. Sometimes heartbreak and beauty share the same breath. There’s room for all of it here.

My Therapeutic Approach

My approach to therapy is person-centered, collaborative, trauma-informed, and tailored to the person sitting in front of me. I don’t believe therapy should feel like a one-size-fits-all formula. We’ll explore not only what you’re thinking and feeling, but also how your experiences, relationships, nervous system, and environment have shaped the way you move through the world. I draw from CBT, ACT, DBT, somatic approaches, mindfulness, and narrative techniques, depending on what feels most useful for you. This might look like identifying patterns that keep you feeling stuck, learning practical skills for managing overwhelming emotions, exploring how emotions show up in your body, challenging beliefs that no longer serve you, or making space for experiences that can’t simply be “fixed.” Above all, I want therapy to feel like something we’re doing together. I’ll meet you with curiosity and compassion while also offering honest feedback, asking meaningful questions, and gently challenging you when it can help you grow.

Who I Help Best

I work best with people who feel like they’re carrying a lot beneath the surface. You may be navigating infertility or fertility treatment, pregnancy or postpartum, grief and loss, changes in your identity, relationship struggles, or concerns around sex and intimacy. You might love the life you’ve built and still feel overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, or unsure of who you are within it. I also enjoy working with couples who want to feel more connected and better understand the patterns that keep pulling them apart. For adolescents (12+), I’m especially drawn to working with teens navigating anxiety, ADHD, neurodivergence, emotional regulation, relationships, and the challenges of figuring out who they are. My 14 years in special education deeply inform this part of my work. You don’t need to be in crisis to come to therapy. Sometimes you just know that something isn’t working anymore, and you’re ready to understand yourself a little better.

What a First Session Is Like

The first session is really about getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what’s been going on in your life, and what you’d like to be different. I’ll ask some questions about your history, relationships, support system, and anything else that helps me understand the bigger picture—but you don’t have to tell me everything at once. You’re also getting to know me. I want you to have a sense of how I work, ask questions, and decide whether I feel like someone you can be comfortable with. By the end of our first session, we’ll have a better idea of what you need and where we might begin. And yes, it’s completely normal to feel a little nervous. You can just show up as you are.
