About Keely

License #: 78535

I support professional women, who are often moms in their 30s, 40s, and 50s who are struggling with anxiety, managing midlife transitions, grief, trauma, constant overthinking. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with over a decade of experience. I am a certified EMDR and Brainspotting therapist with advanced training in IFS, DBT, and trauma informed CBT, and I see clients in Texas both in person and online. The women I support are often the planners and managers of their families and lives. You might be like some of my clients who quietly keep track of schedules, school emails, meals, medications, aging parents, work demands, and relationship dynamics while moving through perimenopause, menopause, or other big life transitions. On the outside you may look like you are holding it together. Inside, your mind does not shut off, replaying conversations, anticipating what could go wrong, and bumping your own needs to the bottom of the list.

My Therapeutic Approach

I blend DBT skills, trauma informed CBT tools, EMDR, and Brainspotting to help calm your nervous system so you are not living on a fast paced treadmill of to dos and worst case scenarios in your head. We pay attention to how stress shows up in your body and mind, like racing thoughts, tightness, irritability, or shutdown, and help your system learn that it is safe to respond differently. Together we focus on the patterns that keep you feeling stuck. Things like people pleasing, perfectionism that turns into procrastination, self criticism, over responsibility, overwhelm, and avoidance. We notice where these patterns come from, how they once helped you cope, and how they now get in the way of the life you want. I use these evidence based interventions in a structured and collaborative way so you are not just talking about insight, but practicing new responses in real time. The goal is lasting behavior change and a calmer, more grounded way of moving through your day, with more space for choice, rest, and self compassion.

Who I Help Best

You may be privately managing: • Anxiety and chronic overthinking: high functioning anxiety, constant mental rehearsal, tension, irritability, and feeling like you can never fully relax. • Midlife transitions, perimenopause, and menopause: shifts in mood, energy, sleep, focus, and identity that leave you feeling off or not like yourself. • Grief and loss: aging or death of parents, divorce or infidelity, empty nest, and the quieter grief of changing roles and seasons. • Trauma and old experiences: childhood emotional neglect, trauma memories surfacing in midlife, or betrayal trauma from infidelity or divorce. • Parenting college age and young adult kids: moving from “manager” to “coach” so you support their independence without enabling or building quiet resentment. • ADHD and neurospicy wiring: late diagnosis or long standing traits, years of compensating, and an inner critic that feels like carrying a constant weight vest.

What a First Session Is Like

Our first meeting feels like a conversation, not an interrogation. Because you complete paperwork online before we meet, we do not spend time on forms. Instead, we talk about what you are managing right now, what is bugging you the most, and what would make therapy feel worthwhile and successful for you. You can share as much or as little as you feel ready for. You do not have to tell me everything in the first hour unless you want to. We do not jump into EMDR or deep trauma processing right away. If approaches like EMDR or Brainspotting are a good fit, I explain them in plain language and we decide together when to bring them in. Therapy with me is collaborative, personalized, and structured enough to support your goals while still flexible for what comes up in daily life. I usually recommend weekly sessions for the first few weeks to build momentum, then we can shift to every other week or monthly check ins as it fits your needs. I use humor, questions, and sometimes a whiteboard to make things concrete and practical. Many clients leave the first session feeling a bit more hopeful, with a sense that they do not have to carry everything alone.
