About Mandalin
License #: 204370I am a licensed therapist who believes that healing begins in a space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. I strive to create a nonjudgmental, emotionally safe environment where your experiences and feelings are honored as valid and meaningful. Whether you’re seeking an empathic ear to help you process life’s stressors or you’re ready to engage in deeper healing work, I will meet you where you are. My primary and preferred modality is EMDR, which I use to help clients process trauma, distressing memories, and long-standing emotional patterns in a way that is both structured and empowering. I also integrate experiential therapy, play therapy, solution-focused techniques, and narrative therapy, allowing our work together to be flexible, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. I believe therapy should not be one-size-fits-all, and I value approaches that honor both emotional depth and practical change. In our work together, you can expect compassion, honesty, and respect. I believe your feelings make sense in the context of your life, and they deserve space rather than judgment. Therapy with me is not about “fixing” you — it’s about understanding, healing, and helping you reconnect with your strengths, resilience, and sense of self. No matter where you are in your journey, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
My Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic approach is client-centered, relational, and trauma-informed. I believe healing happens best in a space where clients feel emotionally safe, respected, and free from judgment. I work collaboratively, meeting clients where they are and honoring their pace, needs, and goals. Some clients come to therapy needing a supportive and empathic space to vent, reflect, and feel understood, while others are ready to engage in deeper healing work. Both are welcome, and both are valid. EMDR is my primary and preferred modality, particularly for processing trauma, distressing life events, and entrenched emotional patterns. I use EMDR to help clients move beyond intellectual understanding and access meaningful, lasting change at a nervous-system level. In addition to EMDR, I integrate experiential therapy to help clients connect with emotions and internal experiences in real time, rather than only talking about them. I also draw from solution-focused therapy to support practical, goal-oriented change, narrative therapy to help clients re-author the stories they tell about themselves, and play therapy techniques when appropriate to foster expression and healing beyond words. My style is flexible and integrative, allowing therapy to be tailored to each individual rather than forcing a single approach. Above all, I believe clients are not broken. Their feelings matter, make sense, and deserve compassion. My role is to provide a steady, supportive presence while helping clients
Who I Help Best
I work best with individuals who are carrying the weight of deep, complex, or long-standing trauma. Many of the clients I support have experienced events or relationships that continue to affect how they feel, think, and relate to themselves or others long after the experience has passed. They may feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure why certain emotions or reactions feel so intense. I help clients make sense of these experiences and work toward healing at a pace that feels safe and manageable. Age is not a limiting factor in my work. I am trained to support children, adolescents, and adults, and I tailor my approach to meet clients where they are developmentally and emotionally. While I am trained to work with couples, my primary passion and focus is individual therapy, particularly with clients who are navigating trauma and its impact on their daily lives, relationships, and sense of self. Clients who tend to benefit most from working with me are those who are ready for a trauma-informed, compassionate approach that honors their experiences without minimizing them. Whether someone is just beginning to understand how trauma has shaped them or is ready to engage in deeper processing and healing, I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where their story, emotions, and resilience are respected.
What a First Session Is Like
The first session is guided by your comfort and needs. There is no “right” way to begin therapy. Some clients need time to settle in, get a feel for the space, and build rapport before diving into deeper work, and that is completely okay. Others feel ready to jump in right away and begin healing immediately. I welcome both approaches and will follow your lead. My primary goal in the first session is to create a safe, supportive environment where you can be yourself without fear of judgment. We will move at a pace that feels manageable for you. If you’re not ready to share certain details yet, that will always be respected. When it feels appropriate, I’ll ask some basic background questions to help me understand you more fully. This may include general family history, important relationships, and what led you to seek therapy at this time. We’ll also talk about what you hope to gain from therapy and what goals feel meaningful to you. These questions are not an interrogation — they are simply a way for me to get to know you better and tailor our work together to your needs. You are always in control of what you share. The first session is about building comfort, trust, and a foundation for the work ahead, in whatever way feels right for you.
