About Cindy
License #: 85915I’m Cindy Herzog, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of North Texas. I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, relationships, life transitions, and the challenges of balancing work, school, and personal life. My approach to therapy is warm, empathetic, and collaborative. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and accepted as you are. I believe therapy is not just about talking through challenges, but also about gaining insight, recognizing patterns, and discovering new ways to approach life. You can expect me to meet you with compassion while also gently challenging you to think differently, explore new perspectives, and move beyond patterns that may no longer serve you. I draw from evidence-based approaches tailored to your individual needs, strengths, and goals. My hope is that therapy helps you better understand yourself, build confidence, develop practical tools, and create meaningful change. You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin. We’ll work together, one step at a time, toward a life that feels more balanced, authentic, and fulfilling.
My Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic approach is person-centered, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change begins with understanding yourself. I draw from evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed skills, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma. Together, we’ll explore patterns of thinking and behavior, build emotional awareness, develop practical coping strategies, and identify new ways to navigate life’s challenges. I strive to balance compassion and acceptance with gentle encouragement to step outside your comfort zone, question unhelpful beliefs, and consider new perspectives. Because every person’s experiences, strengths, and goals are different, I tailor our work to what you need most. My goal is to help you feel empowered, build resilience, and develop tools you can use beyond the therapy room.
Who I Help Best
I work best with adolescents, young adults, and adults who are navigating life’s challenges and want to better understand themselves, build confidence, and create meaningful change. I especially enjoy supporting individuals experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and difficulties balancing school, work, and personal responsibilities. I’m a good fit for those who may feel overwhelmed, stuck in familiar patterns, or unsure how to move forward. Whether you’re managing a life transition, struggling with stress, adjusting to new circumstances, or trying to better understand your thoughts and emotions, therapy can help you find a path forward. My approach is especially suited to individuals who appreciate a therapist who is compassionate and supportive while also willing to ask thoughtful questions, challenge unhelpful patterns, and encourage new perspectives. We’ll build on your existing strengths while developing practical tools to help you feel more confident, capable, and connected to the life you want to live.
What a First Session Is Like
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you’re unsure what to expect. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, welcomed, and supported from the beginning. During our first session, we’ll get to know one another, discuss what brings you to therapy, and explore the challenges you’re currently experiencing. We’ll talk about what you hope to gain from counseling, identify areas you would like to work on, and begin considering what meaningful change might look like for you. You don’t need to have all the answers or know exactly where to start. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable while beginning to identify patterns, strengths, and opportunities for growth. Therapy is a collaborative process, and your voice matters. My role is to listen with empathy, ask thoughtful questions, and help you explore new perspectives without judgment. Together, we’ll begin building a foundation for a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe to be yourself, work through challenges, and move toward your goals.
