About Patricia
License #: 91118As a licensed therapist, author, and survivor of sexual exploitation, I bring both personal experience and professional expertise to help others heal from the trauma of abuse. My book, Cancel Your Imprisonment (On Amazon), sheds light on overcoming betrayal & reclaiming personal strength. I help individuals heal from trauma, relationship challenges, and emotional wounds caused by betrayal, abuse, and trust issues. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns. I incorporate trauma-informed approaches to safely process painful experiences and promote healing. Solution-Focused Therapy helps clients build on their strengths, set achievable goals, and create meaningful change.
My Therapeutic Approach
I provide a compassionate, engaging, trauma-informed, and solution-focused environment. I seek to understand the whole person and consider how past experiences, present circumstances, relationships, personal strengths, and beliefs may affect emotional well-being. When desired by the client or couple, faith and Christian principles may be respectfully incorporated into the counseling process. At the conclusion of the first session, we will discuss recommended next steps, the frequency of sessions, and an initial plan designed to support your therapeutic goals.
Who I Help Best
I provide compassionate, trauma-informed counseling for individuals and couples seeking healing, growth, and lasting change. My specialties include childhood trauma, sexual abuse recovery, attachment wounds, self-esteem, abuse of power, spiritual abuse, and relationship concerns. I am also a Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, helping couples strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and deepen emotional connection. Christian counseling is available upon request.
What a First Session Is Like
Your first session is an opportunity for us to become acquainted and begin creating a safe, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic relationship. My goal is to ensure that you feel heard, respected, and comfortable sharing your concerns at your own pace. For Individual Clients During your first session, you can expect to: Discuss what brought you to therapy and what you hope to accomplish. Share relevant information about your current circumstances, relationships, personal history, and emotional well-being. Identify immediate concerns, stressors, symptoms, strengths, and available support systems. Explore patterns or experiences that may be affecting your thoughts, emotions, relationships, or daily functioning. Begin identifying realistic therapeutic goals based on your specific needs. You can ask questions about the counseling process. Discuss initial strategies or practical tools that may help you begin moving toward relief, healing, and personal growth. You will not be pressured to disclose more than you are ready to share. We will work together at a pace that feels emotionally safe and appropriate for you. For Couples During your first couples' session, each partner will have an opportunity to share their perspective and describe the concerns affecting the relationship. You can expect to discuss what led you to seek counseling. Identify the primary areas of concern within the relationship. Explore each partner’s needs, expectations, and desired outcome.
