My Therapeutic Approach
My practice is very ethics-driven and trauma-focused. I integrate a humanistic and systemic disposition in clinical practice. The folks I get to work with have exquisitely brilliant, yet tortured minds. It is an honor to hold their stories in time and space. I trust in the therapeutic relationship and its ability to lead to deeper exploration of the psyche and cultivate shimmering nuances of existential congruence through genuine ways of being.
Who I Help Best
Here is a list of folks I can best support, based on expertise, experience, and training: *Intersection of neurodivergence + trauma + sexuality. *Neurodivergent brain style assessments with reports for couples (like a brain style playbook for the relationship!) *Childhood trauma healing for adults, inner child exploration *Deconstruction of shame (i.e., religious, historical messaging, societal, sexual, bullying, abuse/neglect, etc.). *Relationships/Individuals who wish to cultivate meaning through intimacy. *Adults who have experienced harm from other healthcare professionals. *BDSM/Kink-related healing and support.
What a First Session Is Like
I understand that initial sessions can be anxiety-provoking; scheduling a first session is a brave and honorable step toward self-discovery, healing, and moving through challenges in order to prepare you for the trails ahead. Clinicians at my practice (Legacy Trails Therapy, PLLC) offer consultations as a collaborative approach to better understand a client's/relationship's needs and to either establish a therapeutic relationship or offer reputable referrals that may be a better fit depending on the presenting concerns. I can't promise that therapy will solve all the problems or heal all the pain; however, I promise that: 1. I will never dismiss your pain. 2. I will honor what you say and feel. 3. I will work with you to cultivate a space dedicated to building trust within the therapeutic relationship. 4. I will turn toward your pain, hold space, and implement theoretical core conditions such as genuineness (i.e., authenticity and intentionality), unconditional positive regard (i.e., judgment-free zone), and empathy (i.e., sitting in your discomfort with you) to promote your well-being throughout our work together.
