My Therapeutic Approach
My practice is very ethics-driven, trauma-trained, and I integrate a humanistic and systemic disposition. People who choose to work with me often have the most brilliant, yet tortured minds. It is an honor to hold their stories in time and space. Our work together can lead to a deeper exploration of the psyche, searching for shimmering nuances of existential congruence that lead to genuine ways of being. Additionally, I provide ethical, affirming brain style assessments for neurodivergent adults seeking to better understand their way of navigating relationships and the world.
Who I Help Best
Here is a list of folks I can best support: Intersection of neurodivergence + trauma + sexuality. Neurodivergence-related assessment (Autism + trauma intersection). Deconstruction of shame (i.e., religious, historical messaging, societal, sexual, bullying, abuse/neglect, etc.). Adult Kinetic Cognitive Styles (ADHD) and/or Autistic characteristics - acceptance and navigation while existing in a societal framework that requires forced impositions of conformity. Relationships/Individuals who wish to cultivate meaning through intimacy. Adults who have experienced harm from other healthcare professionals. Sexual anxiety, shame free sex-education, and challenges related to erotic marginalization. Childhood trauma, adult inner child work, adult 'play' therapy. BDSM/Kink related healing support.
What a First Session Is Like
I understand that initial sessions can be anxiety-provoking; scheduling that first session is a brave and honorable step toward self-discovery, healing, and moving through challenges in order to prepare you for the trails ahead. I offer referral consultations as a collaborative approach to better understand a client's/relationship's needs and to either establish a therapeutic relationship or offer reputable referrals that may be a better fit depending on the presenting concerns. I can't promise that therapy will solve all the problems, or heal all the pain; however I promise that: 1. I will never dismiss your pain. 2. I will honor what you say and feel. 3. I will work with you to cultivate a space dedicated to building trust within the therapeutic relationship. 4. I will turn toward your pain, hold space, and implement theoretical core conditions such as genuineness (i.e., authenticity and intentionality), unconditional positive regard (i.e., judgment-free zone), and empathy (i.e., sitting in your discomfort with you) to promote your well-being throughout our work together.
