About Shurhonda
License #: 84947I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Shurhonda Scott, a Licensed Professional Counselor and EMDR-trained therapist offering a trauma-informed and holistic approach to care. I believe that each person’s journey is unique, and sometimes we need additional support to walk it with courage and clarity. My work is grounded in the belief that transformation happens when we feel safe, seen, and empowered to explore the deeper layers of our story.
My Therapeutic Approach
My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate and nonjudgmental. I specialize in working with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents around issues such as: trauma, anxiety, depression, self-exploration, relationship and family dynamics. I also offer faith-based counseling for those who are interested. I draw from trauma-informed and holistic methods, adapting our work to fit your unique needs. We may explore your thoughts, emotions, past experiences, or faith—whatever feels meaningful to your healing. My goal is to support you in building self-awareness, emotional strength, and a deeper sense of wholeness.
Who I Help Best
I work with families, adults, teens, and children to help educate and empower clients so that they develop the insight and skills necessary to overcome their own personal and situational challenges. Examining the core of your presenting symptoms can be challenging, but you are worth the life-changing experience it can bring.
What a First Session Is Like
Our first session is all about getting to know you—your story, your hopes, and what’s bringing you to therapy right now. I’ll invite you to share at your own pace, and together we’ll begin exploring what you’d like to work toward. I do my best to create a warm, safe space where you can feel comfortable being yourself—where vulnerability is met with care, not judgment. Whether you’re seeking healing from past wounds or clarity for the road ahead, this is a space where your story is honored and your growth is supported.
