Monica Garza Saenz, PhD
About Monica
License #: 40616I’m a bilingual (English/Spanish) licensed psychologist, now accepting in person and virtual clients! I specialize in supporting individuals navigating identity development, eating disorders, and relational concerns, particularly those exploring multicultural identities and the relationship among culture, self, and body.
My Therapeutic Approach
My approach is warm, relational, and mindfulness-based. I slow things down to understand the patterns underneath the symptoms you may be experiencing. Together, we’ll build awareness, reconnect with your sense of self, and create changes that feel meaningful and sustainable. Our work may include: Exploring identity, cultural influences, and family dynamics, Understanding relationship patterns and boundaries, Reconnecting with your body in a more supportive way, and/or Developing tools for emotional awareness and regulation I also support parents who are looking for guidance in better understanding and connecting with their child.
Who I Help Best
Many of the people I work with are students, healthcare professionals, and parents, as well as individuals who have tried therapy before and are looking for a different approach. They may be navigating high expectations, cultural influences, or life transitions while trying to make sense of who they are. They may struggle with relationships, boundaries, or communication, and often find themselves putting others first, leading to exhaustion and burnout. For some, this also shows up in their relationship with their body, food, or self-image. Despite these challenges, they are ready to better understand themselves and begin creating change that feels more connected, intentional, and sustainable.
