About Ba
License #: 82282Hi, I'm Ba Bunansa, LPC (like "Baa Baa Black Sheep"). I provide empowering, authentic care for LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent individuals. My approach blends expertise with humor and ADHD energy to create therapy that actually works for real life.

My Therapeutic Approach
I integrate several evidence-based therapeutic modalities tailored to each client's unique needs. My primary approaches include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for developing psychological flexibility, and mindfulness-based interventions for present-moment awareness and Psychodynamic Therapy for exploring how past experiences shape current patterns. With LGBTQIA+ clients, I apply affirmative therapy principles, while my work with AAPI and BIPOC clients draws on culturally responsive techniques. Rather than adhering rigidly to one methodology, I blend these approaches to create a personalized therapeutic experience that addresses your specific concerns and goals.
Who I Help Best
Clients choose me for the experience I bring to the session, both professionally and life experiences that are shared to facilitate the rapport needed to do some great therapy work. Clients also say I’m affirming, humorous, and nonjudgmental with a dash of neurodivergence. I provide evidence-based therapy services including Psychodynamic therapy, solution-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches. My practice specializes in anxiety therapy, depression treatment, trauma recovery, LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy, and culturally sensitive counseling for the AAPI and BIPOC community.
What a First Session Is Like
Your first session at Sunny Side Up Psychotherapy combines getting-to-know-you conversation with therapeutic structure. We'll begin with paperwork review and discussing confidentiality (about 10 minutes), then move to exploring your current challenges, therapy goals, and relevant background (about 35 minutes). I'll explain my therapeutic approach and how it might help your specific situation. You'll have time to ask questions and express any concerns about the therapy process. By session's end, we'll establish initial treatment goals and a tentative plan for our work together. Many clients find this initial session both revealing and relieving as we begin building our therapeutic relationship.
