About Dawn

License #: 206223

Hello, My name is Dawn James-Russell and I am the Founder & Chief Love Officer of Love & Therapy PLLC. We are a boutique group practice, providing protected, safe spaces for individuals, couples & families to shift, strengthen & shine in Texas, Missouri and Ohio. By addressing trauma and enhancing compassion & communication to revive relationships, we can restore love, healing & happiness. Your mental health matters deeply to us and we are committed to providing unwavering support, understanding, and trusted care every day. Our team is comprised of Therapists (LMFT's, LPC's and LMSW's) and Nurse Practitioners (Family Health & Wellness - Psych Med Mgmt.) so we can holistically support our clients total well-being. We also have a PHP/IOP program to support adults who’ve been struggling with mental & behavioral health disorders, including substance abuse and addiction. Outpatient programs are utilized to foster growth in clients that require a step-down program after they have completed inpatient stabilization, as this is often the most tenuous time in treatment. The programs can also be utilized as a step-up program when just routine care in the community is not intense enough to offer a positive, stable support system.

My Therapeutic Approach

With our Signature G.L.O.W. method, the goal is for individuals, couples & families to create healthy, happy homes by identifying & resolving conflicts. This can be achieved through heightened self-care, enhanced compassion & communication and strengthened emotional ties; overcoming doubts, disappointments and differing perspectives. For our PHP/IOP program, The Co-Occurring track was formulated to treat clients with co-occurring psychosocial issues and addictive diseases. Treatment is equally devoted to an understanding of the both concerns consecutively. In addition, education will allow clients to gain insight into how their mental unwellness can foster their addiction and conversely how their addiction and substance abuse will affect mental stability.
