About Hannah
License #: n/aHi! I'm Hannah Curtis, founder of LifeTalk: Child & Adolescent Life Skills Coaching. I hold a Master of Education from Southern Methodist University (SMU) and am a Master Certified Life Coach (MCLC) with additional training in Positive Discipline. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with children, teens, and families in educational, mentoring, and coaching settings, and I've always been passionate about helping young people recognize their strengths and reach their full potential. LifeTalk was born from a simple belief: while schools do an incredible job teaching academic subjects, many children aren't explicitly taught the life skills they'll rely on every single day. Skills like emotional regulation, communication, resilience, executive functioning, confidence, decision-making, and healthy relationships often determine success just as much as academics. My mission is to help bridge that gap by equipping children, teens, and young adults with practical tools they can carry with them for life. I often describe this as building their "life skills toolbox"—because the more tools we have, the better prepared we are to navigate life's inevitable challenges. My coaching style is warm, encouraging, engaging, and highly individualized. I believe every child is unique, and my goal is to create a space where they feel genuinely seen, understood, and empowered to grow into the best version of themselves.

My Therapeutic Approach
LifeTalk is coaching rather than therapy, and my approach is practical, collaborative, strengths-based, and individualized. Drawing from evidence-based principles in social-emotional learning (SEL), Positive Discipline, executive functioning, emotional intelligence, and growth mindset, I help children build lifelong skills they can carry well beyond our time together. Rather than focusing only on solving today's challenges, I help clients develop greater self-awareness, confidence, resilience, emotional regulation, communication, organization, time management, healthy relationships, and problem-solving skills. Sessions are engaging, personalized, and tailored to each child's unique personality, strengths, and goals using conversation, role-playing, interactive activities, visual tools, and real-life scenarios. A core part of my philosophy is recognizing that emotional well-being is influenced by our everyday habits. Through the LifeTalk Tenets of Health, we explore the importance of nutrition, hydration, movement, sunlight, sleep, mindfulness, creativity, and meaningful human connection. Parents are valuable partners in the coaching process. While sessions remain a psychologically safe space for each child, I provide guidance and practical strategies that reinforce the life skills we're building together at home. My goal is to help every child leave coaching with greater confidence and a life skills toolbox they can rely on for years to come.
Who I Help Best
I work with children, adolescents, and young adults (typically ages 5–20) who are looking to build confidence, strengthen life skills, and better understand themselves. Many of the families I work with are seeking support in areas such as ADHD and executive functioning, emotional regulation, anxiety, organization, time management, social skills, self-confidence, communication, growth mindset, motivation, study skills, independence, and navigating school or life transitions. I also love working with bright, creative, and capable children who don't necessarily have a diagnosis but simply need guidance, accountability, encouragement, and a trusted adult outside the family to help them process challenges and develop healthy habits. LifeTalk is often an excellent complement to therapy. Many of my clients continue working with a therapist while using coaching to practice practical life skills, apply problem solving strategies to everyday life, and work toward future-focused goals. Families who benefit most from my approach are looking for more than just short-term solutions. They want to help their child develop greater self-awareness, stronger emotional intelligence, healthier relationships, and the confidence to navigate life's challenges with increasing independence. Ultimately, my goal isn't simply to help children through a difficult season—it's to equip them with a life skills toolbox they'll continue using well into adulthood.
What a First Session Is Like
The first session is designed to help everyone feel comfortable while giving me the opportunity to get to know your child beyond the challenges that brought them to coaching. We'll spend time talking about what's going well, what's been difficult, and what both you and your child hope to gain from working together. I also enjoy learning about each client's personality, strengths, interests, friendships, school experiences, hobbies, and goals so I can tailor coaching specifically to them. There's never any pressure to share more than they're comfortable sharing. Building trust is one of the most important parts of the coaching relationship, and I believe children make the greatest progress when they feel safe, respected, and genuinely understood. By the end of our first session, you'll have a clearer understanding of how LifeTalk works, the areas we'll focus on together, and some practical tools and strategies your child can begin using right away. Most clients leave with something tangible to practice between sessions, whether that's a healthy habit, communication strategy, organizational tool, mindset shift, or personalized resource. My hope is that both parents and children leave feeling encouraged, understood, and excited about what's ahead. Coaching is a collaborative journey, and I'm honored to partner with families as they help their children build confidence, resilience, independence, and the life skills they'll carry with them for years to come.
