About Lucy
License #: LMFT Associate #205950, LPC Associate #98216Whether you’ve lost a loved one or feel you've lost yourself, you're struggling with the question of “why” or “why me," you're heartbroken or the one who did the breaking, I'm here to help. I am dual licensed as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate and Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and receiving supervision from Diana Walla, MS, LPC-S, LMFT-S. I received my Master of Science in Counseling from Southern Methodist University’s CACREP-accredited program in Dallas, TX, which included completing my clinical sequence in a private practice setting working with individuals, couples, and groups experiencing relational and familial conflict, anxiety, depression, and grief. As a former D1 athlete and corporate executive of more than a decade, I have unique background and experience in high stress, demanding environments that I believe helps me serve and relate to many clients. There’s healing and hope for those ready to take action. Together we can improve your wellbeing and work towards achieving your therapeutic goals.

My Therapeutic Approach
As a relational therapist, I believe relationships and connection are at the heart of healing and growth, and therefore prioritize our therapeutic relationship above all else. With a foundation in emotionally focused therapy and attachment science, I am highly attuned and engaged, allowing you to expand and restructure emotional experiences in the safety of our sessions. I also pull from family systems approaches, believing that our distressing emotions, thoughts, and behaviors make sense within the systems we live in.
Who I Help Best
I help adults grieve through loss and find relief, repair, and renewal in their relationship with themselves and others. Among the more unfavorable feelings we all experience as humans (because there are no "bad" ones), some of my favorite feelings to work through with clients include grief, sadness, shame, self-doubt, self-criticism, regret, fear and worry, anger, resentment, and fatigue/burnout.
What a First Session Is Like
Our very first session together is an 80-minute evaluation where we will go over your signed Informed Consent and other key client paperwork and policies before diving into your assessment to explore your current struggles and therapeutic goals. This session feels more like a Q&A as I gather information on your personal background, familial as well as romantic relationships, strengths, work, health/wellness, and more. Next, we can begin our 50-minute sessions. Our earliest sessions I focus heavily on building trust and a secure bond with you. My work becomes a way of being with you, relating, validating, questioning, and challenging while working in therapeutic interventions tailored to you and your needs.
