About Jackie
License #: 6564Aside from being a therapist, I'm also a mom, an immigrant daughter and an avid reader. I completed my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University in 2021. Having grown up in the heart of the diverse immigrant community, I've also spent over 10 years volunteering and serving immigrant and refugee families through various organizations. Since entering the mental health field, my passion has only grown to close the gap in access to mental health care for individuals and families. In an effort to help close that gap, I offer reduced rates for those clients that need it. Therapy should be accessible to everyone!
My Therapeutic Approach
I use a person-centered approach with all of my clients. This means that I believe you are the expert on yourself and I follow your lead on what things feel the most important to work on. I believe healing happens in connection so I strive to build that connection by showing up, fully human. With my clients that struggle with anxiety or depression, I will use CBT interventions, as well as self-compassion. Many times, I will also incorporate IFS (Internal Family Systems) work as well. Because each client has different needs, I keep my focus on what practices are most effective and research based.
Who I Help Best
I work best with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, or just wanting to learn more about themselves and wanting to create change in their lives. I also see those looking to grow their families and are facing infertility issues, pregnancy complications or just wanting to prepare for postpartum and parenting or are currently parenting and looking to break generational cycles.
What a First Session Is Like
In our first session, we start by discussing some basic housekeeping things like how to contact me, session length, billing policies, etc. The rest of the session is really focused on getting to know you better. You are always welcome to share as little or as much as you'd like in that first session - just taking that first step of your comfort zone is already so meaningful and begins your path to change.
