About Sarah
License #: 2771Hello, I'm Sarah Fowler, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of The Art of Healing Therapy. I work with teens, adults, and couples navigating trauma, relationship challenges, grief, anxiety, and life transitions. My approach is collaborative and tailored to your unique needs because therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. I integrate EMDR, Brainspotting, somatic techniques, experiential therapies, and The Gottman Method when they support your goals. During our first 90-minute session, we'll get to know one another, explore what brought you to therapy, and begin identifying where you'd like to go. We'll move at a pace that feels right for you—you don't need to have everything figured out or share your entire story in one session. My hope is that you'll leave feeling understood, with a clearer sense of how we can work together and at least one practical tool or insight to support you between sessions.
My Therapeutic Approach
I believe healing begins in a relationship where you feel safe enough to explore your experiences, challenges, and goals without judgment. Whether you're navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, relationship concerns, or a life transition, I strive to meet you where you are. My approach is collaborative and tailored to your unique needs. Drawing from EMDR, Brainspotting, The Gottman Method, Experiential Therapy, and somatic techniques, I integrate evidence-based practices with genuine curiosity, attunement, and connection. Together, we'll work to better understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, strengthen your relationships, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.
Who I Help Best
I work with teens, adults, and couples who are navigating the lasting effects of trauma, relationship challenges, grief, anxiety, and life transitions. Many of the people I work with feel stuck repeating patterns they don't fully understand or are carrying experiences that continue to shape their relationships, sense of self, and daily life. Together, we'll slow down, make sense of those experiences, and create meaningful, lasting change.
What a First Session Is Like
During our first 90-minute session, we will: *Review important practice policies, confidentiality, and answer any questions you may have. *Talk about what brought you to therapy and what you're hoping to gain from our work together. *Begin exploring your personal history, relationships, and experiences to better understand the context of what you're navigating. *Discuss your goals and what healing or meaningful change might look like for you. *Whenever possible, I'll also introduce a practical tool, coping strategy, or reflection you can begin using between sessions. My goal is not to understand your entire story in one session, but to begin building a relationship where you feel seen, understood, and supported. Together, we'll develop a plan that is tailored to your unique needs and goals.
