One of the greatest honors of being a therapist is being trusted to walk alongside people as they explore who they are, make sense of their experiences, and discover new possibilities for themselves. I believe deeply in our capacity for growth and change, regardless of what we've experienced or the circumstances we've faced. It's something I've witnessed countless times in my work and experienced in my own life. My curiosity about human behavior and the ways our early experiences, relationships, and environments shape us led me to pursue degrees in Psychology, Criminal Justice, and Social Work. With over 18 years of experience working with people, that same curiosity continues to inform my work as a therapist. Having experienced therapy myself, I also understand the vulnerability and courage it takes to sit on the other side of the couch. It's a perspective that continues to shape how I show up for the people I work with. Originally from Arizona, with a special connection to the Southern Oregon Coast, I now call the Middle Tennessee home. Outside of therapy, I enjoy writing, traveling, knitting/crocheting, spending time with my husband and attending the ballet, live music and theater events. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), licensed to provide therapy in Tennessee, Oregon, Kentucky, Indiana, and Idaho.

My Therapeutic Approach

At the heart of therapy is a deeply human relationship built on trust, collaboration, compassion, and curiosity. I believe meaningful change begins with understanding the experiences that shape us, the meaning we make of them, and the patterns we develop along the way. My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, rooted in the belief that we are whole human beings—more than our diagnoses, challenges, or ways of coping. I draw from psychodynamic, attachment-based, somatic, experiential, and parts-oriented approaches, recognizing that no single model fits every person or relationship. Whether working with individuals or couples, I strive to create a space where people feel respected, understood, and free to explore without judgment. Our work may include conversation, reflection, and, when helpful, somatic or creative practices that invite deeper awareness. I'm especially passionate about helping people deepen their relationships with themselves and others, navigate grief and ambiguous loss, cultivate self-acceptance, and explore the patterns that impact how they connect and relate to themselves and others. I believe greater awareness creates room for new possibilities, even when loss has no clear ending. My role isn't to tell you who to become or how to live, but to walk alongside you as you reconnect with your own wisdom, deepen your understanding of yourself and your relationships, and make choices that reflect who you are.

Who I Help Best

I often work best with individuals and couples who are ready to go deeper—those who want to understand not just what's happening in their lives and relationships, but why. Perhaps you've noticed familiar patterns repeating, find yourself responding in ways you don't fully understand, or feel stuck despite your efforts to create change. You may be navigating relationship challenges, grief or ambiguous loss, life transitions, or exploring how past experiences continue to shape your present. Maybe you're questioning long-held beliefs about yourself, your relationships, or the life you thought you'd have. I especially enjoy working with people who are willing to turn their curiosity inward, explore their own patterns and responses, and consider new perspectives—even when doing so feels uncomfortable. This isn't about blame or finding fault, but developing greater awareness and understanding. You don't need to have everything figured out, know where to begin, or even feel ready for change. We can make room for uncertainty, ambivalence, and the process of discovering what feels right for you. Our work isn't simply about finding solutions to immediate challenges. It's about understanding yourself more deeply, making sense of your experiences, and discovering new ways of relating to yourself, others, and the world around you.

What a First Session Is Like

I believe finding the right fit with a therapist is one of the most important parts of effective therapy. That's why our work begins with a 30-minute consultation, giving us an opportunity to get to know one another, explore what brings you to therapy, ask questions, and consider whether we're a good fit. One question I'm often asked is, "What will therapy look like?" My answer is that we won't fully know until we begin working together. You'll bring your experiences, perspectives, and hopes, and I'll bring my knowledge, curiosity, and experience. Together, we'll co-create a process tailored to who you are and what you need, rather than following a predetermined roadmap. During our initial intake session, I'll spend time learning about you—your experiences, relationships, challenges, interests, and what has or hasn't worked for you in the past. But you aren't expected to tell your entire story in our first session. You always have a choice in what and how much you share. Trust is built over time, and I believe therapy should honor that process. Our first session is simply the beginning of getting to know one another and discovering what our work together might become.
