About Candice
License #: 6334I know how overwhelming life can feel when everything seems to unravel. If you're carrying grief, trauma, pain from relationships, burnout, or a major life transition, you don't have to carry it alone. Before becoming a counselor, I spent more than 25 years collectively in higher education, global business environments and the non-profit sector. That background helps me also support clients navigating high-pressure careers, identity shifts, and complex personal and professional stress. Personally, I was widowed suddenly at 34 with 3 small children, one with special needs, and understand the practical, every day life challenges that come with putting your life back together. I provide in-person counseling in the Nashville/Brentwood area and offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can see if we're a good fit.
My Therapeutic Approach
My approach is relational, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I draw from attachment theory, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, somatic awareness and solution-focused strategies to help you build emotional agility, process difficult experiences, and move toward greater peace and stability.
Who I Help Best
I work with adults and couples who have experienced sudden loss, betrayal, relationship challenges, and women experiencing the life transition of perimenopause/post-menopause. I have particular experience with grief, post-traumatic stress and growth, and caregiver/professional burnout. I also work with business executives and health care professionals.
What a First Session Is Like
Before you come in, you'll fill out intake paperwork that you will receive via email/through your portal account. During our first session, we will go through several items such as confidentiality, payment, cancellation policy, what your first few sessions might look like and allow you to ask any additional questions you may have. We may revisit some of your background and talk through issues or challenges you would like to prioritize in sessions. Importantly, it's a time for you to assess if you think we are a good fit. The relationship between client and therapist is paramount, and this a time for you to evaluate that.
