About Brittany
License #: 8253I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who works with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life stressors. Many of the people I work with are feeling overwhelmed, stuck in painful patterns, or trying to make sense of difficult experiences that continue to impact their daily lives. My approach is compassionate, practical, and grounded in evidence-based treatment. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and supported while also working toward meaningful change. I believe that healing happens when we are able to better understand our experiences, regulate our nervous system, and develop healthier ways of responding to stress, emotions, and relationships. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and I often incorporate nervous system regulation, mindfulness, and trauma-informed strategies into our work together. Clients often tell me they appreciate having a therapist who is both supportive and direct. My goal is to help you gain insight, build practical skills, and move toward a life that feels more stable, connected, and aligned with your values.
My Therapeutic Approach
My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and focused on helping clients feel both supported and empowered in the therapy process. I draw primarily from EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also integrating nervous system regulation skills, mindfulness, and attachment-informed work. Many emotional struggles are connected to how our nervous system responds to stress and past experiences. In therapy, we work to help your nervous system learn that it is safe again while also building practical tools to manage difficult thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. EMDR can be especially helpful for processing painful memories or experiences that continue to affect how you feel today. CBT helps identify patterns in thoughts and behaviors that may be keeping you stuck, and together we work to shift those patterns in healthier directions. Therapy with me is not just about talking through problems. We focus on understanding what is happening internally, learning skills to regulate emotions, and creating meaningful change in your daily life.
Who I Help Best
I work best with adults who are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or trying to navigate difficult life experiences. Many of my clients are dealing with anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, betrayal, stress, or significant life transitions. Some people come to therapy after a painful event or discovery in their life, while others have been carrying stress, trauma, or patterns from the past that are beginning to affect their present relationships and well-being. I particularly enjoy working with people who are motivated for growth but feel unsure where to start. You may be someone who tends to overthink, struggle with self-criticism, or feel like your nervous system is constantly “on edge.” If you want to better understand your patterns, process difficult experiences, and develop healthier ways of coping and relating to others, therapy can be a powerful place to begin that work.
What a First Session Is Like
The first session is primarily about getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. We will talk about what has been going on in your life, what challenges you are currently facing, and what you hope might feel different as a result of therapy. I will also ask some background questions to better understand your history, relationships, and current stressors. There is no pressure to share everything right away. The first session is meant to be a comfortable conversation where we begin building trust and identifying what feels most important to focus on. By the end of the session, we will begin identifying goals for therapy and discussing what the next steps might look like. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful that change is possible.
