About Ellie
License #: 18756My professional background includes community health, rural health, pediatrics, private practice, and now independent practice; after completing the Vanderbilt PMHNP program in 2012. I am a Behaviorist at heart, learning techniques through years of equestrian competition and as a BCBA assistant for 1-on-1 behavioral therapy with nonverbal to inconsistently verbal autistic children in-home, in the schools, and at day-camps. Communication and authenticity are foundational inspirations. My life is currently blossoming with playing in the garden, socializing with treasured friends, centering in yoga, international and domestic mountain and beach travel, learning to ride a motorcycle, taking aerial arts classes, Latin dancing, and bringing found object art back into my life. Creating a lovely life for myself and my baby boy is my primary motivator.

My Therapeutic Approach
I aim to create a therapeutic environment that fosters trust, safety, exploration, insight, strength, and direction. Treatment will be specifically tailored to therapeutic needs and goals. Many aspects of life are intertwined and influencing each other. Often times, something blocks growth. We'll explore mental health, physical health, relationship dynamics, financial health, fulfilling activity, and work/life balance to identify opportunities for improvement. Through achievable SMART (Specific Measurable Attainable Relevant Timely) goals, clients will make impactful change and create a thriving environment to live in. We will meet at any point in the journey, and move forward from there.
Who I Help Best
I work best with individuals in life role changes, executives/leadership positions, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Spectrum, High functioning Autism Spectrum, medication fear, assertiveness skills, interpersonal skills, and parenting skills. However, I cannot think of a client description I have not worked with previously! If a simple medication refill is your ideal appointment, your PCP would serve your needs better. If you intend to actively move toward shifting your internal and external environments with curiosity, we will likely work well together.
What a First Session Is Like
This is a big session. We'll utilize up to 110min exploring current challenges, historic mental health journey, family of origin, impactful life experiences, what connects us today, patterns of daily living, and treatment goals. We may order lab work, genetic testing, psychiatric testing, and/or send medications. We may opt out of all of those. The session will conclude with short-term achievable steps and a plan. If the full new client intake process is too much to face, I offer a 25min client led option for $125. It's an opportunity to decide if we want to work together.
