About Foy
License #: 39570I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner based in Nashville, Tennessee. I’m originally from Montgomery, Alabama, and I’ve called Nashville home since 2018. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi and later completed Belmont University’s accelerated nursing program. After graduating from Belmont, I worked as a registered nurse at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where I cared for patients with complex medical and psychiatric needs. I went on to complete my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, specializing in psychiatric mental health, and now practice as a PMHNP. Outside of work, I’m a mother who loves spending time with my family, traveling, and expressing my creativity through hand embroidery.

My Therapeutic Approach
My approach to care is collaborative, open-minded, and rooted in deep respect for each person’s unique story. I welcome individuals from all backgrounds, identities, and life experiences. My office is a judgment-free space where you can speak openly and honestly, without fear of criticism or dismissal. Building long-term, trusting relationships with my patients is incredibly important to me. I want you to feel comfortable sharing anything — even the hard or complicated parts. Transparency and trust are foundational to meaningful progress, and I strive to create a space where you feel truly heard. I take time to listen carefully and understand the full picture of what you’re experiencing. I do not believe in rushed, transactional appointments. Your time matters, and your story deserves attention. I am committed to giving you the space we need to thoughtfully explore concerns and develop a plan together. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I provide evidence-based medication management when appropriate, but I always view treatment through a holistic lens. I consider lifestyle factors, stress, sleep, relationships, life transitions, and overall well-being — not just symptoms. Together, we will create a treatment plan that aligns with your goals, values, and needs. My goal is for you to leave appointments feeling supported, understood, and confident in the direction we’re moving.
Who I Help Best
I work with adolescents (12+) and adults who are ready to better understand their mental health and take meaningful steps toward feeling more balanced and in control. I especially enjoy working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and major life transitions. I have a particular interest in supporting women through pregnancy and postpartum changes, as well as teens and young adults who may be struggling with identity, academic pressures, social stressors, or emotional regulation. Many of my patients are high-functioning but internally overwhelmed. They may look “fine” on the outside while feeling anxious, stuck, irritable, or exhausted on the inside. Others come to me during seasons of change — becoming a parent, starting a new job, entering college, experiencing relationship shifts, or simply feeling like something isn’t working the way it used to. I work best with individuals who value collaboration and want to be actively involved in their care. If you’re looking for a provider who will listen carefully, take time with you, and thoughtfully build a plan based on your goals and needs, we will likely be a good fit.
What a First Session Is Like
Initial appointments are typically 60 minutes long. This first visit is an opportunity for me to truly get to know you — not just your symptoms, but your story. We will complete a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, which includes discussing your current concerns, past mental health history, medical history, family history, lifestyle factors, sleep, stress levels, relationships, and any other areas that may be impacting your well-being. I take a holistic approach and want to understand the full picture before moving forward. There is no pressure to have everything perfectly articulated. My role is to guide the conversation and ask thoughtful questions so we can gain clarity together. By the end of our first session, we will discuss diagnostic impressions (if appropriate) and begin creating a treatment plan collaboratively. This may include medication options, therapy recommendations, lifestyle strategies, or a combination of approaches. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and clear about next steps. You will never be rushed, and there is always space for your questions.
