About Kelli
License #: 38451I am a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. I completed my Master of Science in Nursing degree from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN. Prior to that, I worked as a Registered Nurse since 2015 in various settings, including the ER, crisis stabilization, and ICU. Before beginning my career as a nurse, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Western Kentucky University. I remain committed to lifelong learning, always striving to stay up-to-date on the latest research and advancements in mental health treatment.
My Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, practical, and patient-centered. I believe effective mental health care often involves a combination of thoughtful medication management, evidence-based therapeutic strategies, and attention to lifestyle factors that influence overall well-being. During our work together, I incorporate techniques from approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused therapy to help patients develop skills for managing emotions, improving coping, and navigating life’s challenges. I aim to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel safe exploring their experiences and working toward meaningful, sustainable change. Treatment is always individualized, and we will work together to find the strategies that best support your goals and long-term mental health.
Who I Help Best
I work best with adolescents and adults who are motivated to better understand their mental health and are open to a collaborative approach to treatment. My practice is well-suited for patients experiencing conditions such as anxiety, OCD and related disorders, depression, and ADHD who want thoughtful medication management combined with practical strategies for improving daily functioning and overall well-being. I particularly enjoy working with patients who value a holistic perspective- integrating lifestyle factors, coping skills, emotional regulation, and self-awareness alongside medication, when appropriate. My practice is inclusive and gender-affirming, and I strive to provide a supportive environment where individuals of all identities feel respected, heard, and empowered in their care.
What a First Session Is Like
Our first session is scheduled for one hour. During our initial appointment, we will spend time getting a thorough understanding of your concerns, history, and goals for treatment. I will ask questions about your current symptoms, mental health and medical history, medications, lifestyle, and any factors that may be affecting your well-being. This evaluation helps ensure that we develop an accurate understanding of what you are experiencing. Together, we will discuss possible diagnoses, treatment options, and whether medication, therapy modalities, lifestyle changes, or a combination of approaches may be most helpful. My goal is to create a collaborative, supportive environment where you feel heard and involved in decisions about your care, and where we can develop a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs and goals.
