However, similar to a Chinese finger trap, the more we try to fight our emotions, the more we struggle. I support clients in understanding the role of emotions, finding healthy ways to express them, and building the capacity to sit with difficult feelings so they can move through life with greater confidence. I also help clients gain insight into how their past experiences shape the present and support them in moving toward alignment with their goals and values.
My Therapeutic Approach
I take a relational, trauma-informed approach to therapy and integrate existential, attachment, and mindfulness-based modalities. I am also trained in EMDR.
Who I Help Best
I work with adults and adolescents experiencing eating disorders, disordered eating, developmental trauma, family-of-origin issues, anxiety, and depression.
What a First Session Is Like
In our first session we will begin discussing what brings you to therapy, some goals you may have, and how I may be able to help. You are welcome to use this time to get to know me and ask any questions you may have about logistics, the therapy process, etc.
