About Rachel

License #: 4061

Originally from Memphis, I have lived in Nashville for ten years and still find myself exploring new areas. I graduated from Lipscomb University with a Bachelor’s in Dietetics and went on to complete my dietetic internship there. I also received a Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics with a concentration in sports nutrition from Texas Tech University. When I’m not working, I enjoy baking, traveling, reading, hiking, and finding the yummiest bakeries in town! I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders and disordered eating, while also seeing clients for a number of other nutrition-related concerns (body image, chronic dieting, sports nutrition, diabetes management, meal support, and more). I currently provide nutrition-related therapy in-person and virtually through a private, secure network for adolescents (12+) and adults of all ages.

My Therapeutic Approach

I operate from an anti-diet approach and incorporate the following treatment methods: evidence-based, health at every size (HAES), weight-inclusive, intuitive eating, all foods fit, motivational interviewing.

Who I Help Best

I work best with adolescents and adults who are ready to improve their relationship with food, their body, and their overall health in a supportive, non-diet environment. I work especially well with individuals struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, chronic dieting, body image concerns, and rigid or compulsive exercise patterns. I also support clients seeking sports nutrition guidance or medical nutrition therapy (often with a co-occurring eating disorder). My ideal clients are those who want compassionate, intuitive eating–aligned counseling and are looking for sustainable change, not another restrictive diet.

What a First Session Is Like

If you want to get scheduled, we will begin with a 90-minute assessment session. This session is intended to be mostly an intake where I am getting a full picture of you. The point of this is to make sure I have all the details about who you are, so that we can formulate the best plan moving forward. After this meeting, we will schedule follow-ups at whatever frequency is appropriate. Follow-up sessions are intended to create support and accountability while providing education about important skills and knowledge to make sure your recovery journey feels possible. Because I believe that nutrition management is a holistic process involving every part of an individual, conversations will cover all areas of your life – stress management, sleep quality, meal preparation, social gatherings, and all other factors that may impact your health.
