About Lisa
License #: MF001348I am Lisa Higgins, and I am a licensed therapist and the founder of Lisa Higgins Therapy. I works with adults who are feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. I specialize in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, Adult ADHD, parental burnout, and relationship stress. I believe that meaningful change happens when people feel truly seen and understood, and I approach therapy with compassion and curiosity. I create a calm, supportive space where my clients can slow down, reflect, and reconnect with themselves in a way that feels both safe and empowering.

My Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each individual’s needs. I use evidence-based practices with a relational style that prioritizes trust, emotional safety, and practical growth. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all method, I work with my clients to better understand the “why” behind their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while also building tools that can be used in everyday life. My goal is to help clients move toward greater clarity, self-compassion, and resilience at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of where they are in their journey.
Who I Help Best
I work best with adults who are managing anxiety, navigating the challenges of Adult ADHD, experiencing parental burnout, or feeling disconnected in their relationships. Many of my clients are high-functioning individuals who appear to have everything under control on the outside but feel exhausted, scattered, or overwhelmed internally. I also support couples who are hoping to improve communication, rebuild connection, or work through recurring patterns that create distance. I understand how difficult it can be to ask for help, especially for those who are used to taking care of everyone else, and I try to meet each client with patience and empathy.
What a First Session Is Like
The first session is an opportunity to begin getting to know one another in a comfortable, low-pressure way. I will listen as you to share what has been bringing you to therapy at this time, along with any goals or hopes you may have for the process. You can expect a gentle conversation that moves at your pace, with space for questions, reflection, and collaboration. Together, we will begin to identify areas of focus and talk about what support might look like moving forward, so that you can leave the session with a clearer sense of direction and reassurance that you don’t have to navigate things alone.
