Hi, I’m Ashley. I’m a therapist who believes you shouldn’t have to clean up your story before bringing it into the room. I work with adults and couples navigating infertility and fertility treatment, pregnancy and postpartum, grief and loss, motherhood, relationships, sex and intimacy, and major life transitions. I also work with adolescents (12+) experiencing anxiety, ADHD, neurodivergence, and the challenges that come with growing up. Before becoming a therapist, I spent 14 years in special education, an experience that shaped my collaborative, flexible approach to therapy. My passion for infertility and maternal mental health is also personal. My husband and I spent nine years navigating infertility, including multiple rounds of IVF, failed treatment, loss, and eventually pregnancy and motherhood. Your story is uniquely yours, but I understand how hope, grief, anger, jealousy, fear, and even humor can exist in the same space. Therapy with me is warm, conversational, and real. I won’t just sit quietly and nod. I’ll listen, ask questions, offer perspective, and gently challenge you when it’s helpful. You can cry, swear, laugh, say the thing you’re afraid sounds terrible, or admit you have no idea what you’re feeling. I don’t believe in rushing people toward the bright side. Sometimes heartbreak and beauty share the same breath. There’s room for all of it here.

I am the the daughter of two immigrants from Brasil and Germany, and I deeply treasure being a blend of different cultures. Born in Mobile, Alabama, I grew up near the water and thus believe the ocean is the most magical place on earth. I love animals to my very core, I have more hobbies than hours in a day, and I get a real thrill from unsubscribing from emails. I take recycling veryyy seriously, and I have never said no to a glass of orange juice so long as it's not made from concentrate. And I've always loved a good story. I am captivated by human resilience and the stories that shape our lives. What began as a dream of becoming an investigative journalist turned into something deeper: not just telling stories but helping people reshape their own. I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2010 with degrees in psychology and journalism and became a Double Dawg when I got my Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2012. I have over a decade of experience as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), guiding individuals, couples, and families through trauma, transitions, and challenges big and small. As a therapist, I am both a meticulous detangler of life's complications as well as a wholehearted cheerleader. I approach both therapy and life with compassion, curiosity, and hope.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life transitions — especially high-achievers succeeding by every visible measure and quietly falling apart, caregivers who have been strong for everyone else, and South Asian clients navigating family expectation, immigrant experience, and the pressure to appear fine. If something from the past keeps showing up in your present — in your relationships, your body, your reactions — you're in the right place.

My name is Michael Venezia. I was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama. I began my career as a therapist in Huntsville 10 years ago and then moved to Atlanta 6 years ago to continue my counseling career. In my time here, I have engaged in intensive trainings for EMDR for my trauma clients as well as EFT for couples counseling. I have also completed trainings to incorporate IFS, DBT, Gottman, and other therapy models so that I could provide my clients with whatever therapy best suits their needs. I have really enjoyed working with clients using different modalities and seeing which ones work best for them to provide them the relief they are seeking. I am continuing to explore different modalities to learn and clients I could better serve to bring clients quality care. In my free time, I enjoy watching and playing sports when I can, trying new cooking recipes, binge watching tv shows, and exploring new places to travel to. If you have any questions about my background you’d like to know more about, we could always discuss that in a consultation.

Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all, and neither is therapy. I blend practical, evidence-based tools with somatic awareness, breathwork, and mindfulness to meet you where you are—body, mind, and heart. My approach is holistic, curious, and compassionate: together, we’ll uncover patterns, release what’s weighing you down, and strengthen your inner resilience. I specialize in PTSD and trauma, ADHD, eating disorders and body image concerns, perfectionism, narcissistic abuse recovery, and navigating life transitions like divorce and co-parenting. Whether you need strategies for day-to-day stress or a deeper exploration of long-held emotional patterns, I create a safe, non-judgmental space where your story is fully seen and honored. Beyond therapy, I’m someone who values humor, curiosity, and the small moments of joy that remind us of who we truly are. Expect warmth, honesty, and a touch of lightness, even when the work is deep. My goal is to help you reconnect with your authentic self—and feel at home in your own skin. In person sessions on Monday and virtual M-F
