I support professional women, who are often moms in their 30s, 40s, and 50s who are struggling with anxiety, managing midlife transitions, grief, trauma, constant overthinking. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with over a decade of experience. I am a certified EMDR and Brainspotting therapist with advanced training in IFS, DBT, and trauma informed CBT, and I see clients in Texas both in person and online. The women I support are often the planners and managers of their families and lives. You might be like some of my clients who quietly keep track of schedules, school emails, meals, medications, aging parents, work demands, and relationship dynamics while moving through perimenopause, menopause, or other big life transitions. On the outside you may look like you are holding it together. Inside, your mind does not shut off, replaying conversations, anticipating what could go wrong, and bumping your own needs to the bottom of the list.

People seek therapy for a number of reasons, often because they feel 'stuck' in unproductive patterns and don't know how to move forward toward a more satisfying life. You may be seeking therapy because you are suffering with a biologically based mental illness, such as depression, psychological distress, conflict in your relationships, or out of a desire for deeper understanding of yourself and more authentic connections with others. I believe that through a genuine, validating connection with a therapist you can begin to find the key to a more peaceful, fulfilling life. I believe in working with each individual and family in a non-judgmental, direct, and collaborative way. My aim is to help clients foster a better understanding of themselves as individuals and how they relate to others, and through this understanding, make the changes needed to live a more fulfilling, engaged life. After receiving my Bachelors degree in Psychology from San Diego State University in 1993, I went on to receive my Masters degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling from the University of San Diego in 1997. Since graduating, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including hospital based psychiatric clinics, community based mental health clinics, school based mental health clinics, and most recently in private practice. My previous work has included crisis management, assessment, and treatment of individuals with severe mental illness, and treatment of children and families.

Why Choose In-Person Grief & Loss Therapy?

While online therapy has its place, many people find that in-person grief & loss therapy offers deeper connection and more effective treatment. Face-to-face sessions allow your therapist to pick up on non-verbal cues, and the dedicated therapy space helps you focus away from home distractions. Our Northwest Hills location provides a calm, professional space away from the buzz of downtown — a dedicated place for your mental health, not a coffee shop side room.
